Visual Arts

High School

Students begin with Art I, which builds on the knowledge and skills developed in earlier grades, and Art Appreciation. Once these courses are completed, students have the option to take any number of in-depth, advanced studio classes, including drawing, painting, and sculpture.

Elementary and Middle School

Students are introduced to the Art Elements and Principles of Design; important artists and movements from art history; vocabulary of art; and drawing from observation. They learn the fundamental aspects of their craft and complete assignments using a variety of media and techniques including ceramics, printmaking, painting, drawing, sculpture and mixed media.
