Visual Arts

High School

Students begin with Art I, which builds on the knowledge and skills developed in earlier grades. Once this course is completed, students have the option to take any number of advanced studio classes, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking and art history. These courses delve into greater depth on each subject. Students have the opportunity to receive college credit for AP Art, building a portfolio based on parameters set by the College Board.

Elementary and Middle School

Students are introduced to the Art Elements and Principles of Design; important artists and movements from art history; vocabulary of art; and drawing from observation. They learn the fundamental aspects of their craft and complete assignments using a variety of media and techniques including ceramics, printmaking, painting, drawing, sculpture and mixed media.
