Salary: $16/hour

Position Summary: 
Safely and efficiently transport students and authorized personnel to and from off-site venues for activities ranging from class field trips to community outreach and performances. Transportation needs may be for any and all of the Texas Center for Arts + Academics entities (Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, Texas Boys Choir, Texas School of the Arts, and Texas Dance Conservatory).

Essential Job Functions:

  • Be accountable to all key stakeholders, including students and families, donors, volunteers, the general public, staff and faculty, board, et al.
  • Effectively represent the entities of Texas Center for Arts + Academics to the public, with great      attention to the quality and service of excellence
  • Maintain high safety standards and a clean driving record, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations
  • Provide good stewardship of organization resources
  • Create accurate transportation logs and reports
  • Others as assigned

Essential Job Requirements: 

  • Education – high school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience – customer service; clean driving record - we will train you
  • Required Skills – valid Texas commercial driver license (Class B-CDL); ability to pass alcohol/drug screening and a criminal history background check; ability to work effectively with diverse populations; excellent verbal and written communication; good attention to detail; consistent access to email
  • Preferred Skills – own mobile phone - receive and reply to emails, texts and phone calls
  • Physical Requirements – must operate buses with up to 45-passenger capacities; ability to sit for extended periods; assist with load-in/load-out of passenger vans and buses; ability to carry up to 50 lbs.

Faculty Positions

Category:  Exempt, Part-time. Position is temporary for remainder of 2017-2018 school year; upon successful completion, the candidate may be offered a 10 month contract for the following year.

Reports to: High School / Middle School Principal
Department: LOTE

Position Summary: The Secondary French Teacher is responsible for providing the highest quality classroom instruction in the area of French (8th grade French I, 9th grade French II, 10th grade French III). FWAFA teachers provide students with appropriate educational activities and experiences that will enable them to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. In collaboration with other faculty and administration, the Teacher will support the School’s mission through curriculum development and instruction in alignment with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), the National Core Art Standards.

Essential Job Function:

  • Provide daily instruction for high school French classes in grades 8-12
  • Create and implement effective lesson plans that promote the highest levels of academic scholarship, problem solving, and creative expression
  • Endeavor to create a learning environment that integrates student’s artistic abilities with their academic studies
  • Collaborate with other faculty to create curriculum, develop student relationships, and prepare students for further training in academic/artistic settings
  • Attend staff meetings and professional development workshops as required
  • Create and maintain positive communication with administration, staff, faculty, students, and parents

Essential Job Requirements:

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree required with a concentration in French; Master’s degree preferred. Teacher certification or Highly Qualified designation required.
  • Experience – Three years’ experience teaching high school French preferred.
  • Required Skills and Capabilities – Strong classroom management skills; ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team; excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Preferred Skills and Capabilities – Proven experience collaborating with others to develop interdisciplinary academic products/classroom activities.
  • Physical Requirements – Ability to carry up to 25 lbs.; valid driver license.
