Stephen Madrid began his professional career at the age of eighteen as a reporter, then anchor for a CBS affiliate in Midland, Texas. Shortly after, under the auspices of Hardin-Simmons University, he served as Managing Artistic Director for A Moment’s Notice, a local touring acting troupe. Around the same time, with the support of Abilene Repertory Theatre, Mr. Madrid was the founding Managing Artistic Director for a youth repertory troupe, Wild Things. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from Hardin-Simmons University.  He continued as a professional actor in the DFW market until 2007 but continues to directing as often as he can.

Before his time at the Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (FWAFA), he was the Principal for the Pinnacle School of Fine Arts and also produced its artistic performances as Campus Director.
